Link Building
How to Build Links in iGaming Without Getting Penalised

Every gambling site has the same problem: the links that are easy to buy are the links Google discounts or penalises, and the links that matter are the ones money can't directly purchase. Here's the framework we use.
Know what a toxic footprint looks like
Before building anything, audit what exists. The classic iGaming toxicity pattern: hundreds of links from generic 'news' blogs with no organic traffic, exact-match anchors on money terms, and sidebar/footer placements on sites that link to casinos, loans and crypto in the same paragraph. If your profile looks like that, new links won't save you — cleanup comes first.
The three link sources that actually work
- Data digital PR: betting-pattern studies, market analysis and original research that journalists cite
- Reactive commentary: expert quotes on industry news, regulation changes and major events
- Vetted niche placements: real gaming and sports publications with genuine organic traffic — not link farms dressed as blogs
Anchor text discipline
Over-optimised anchors are the fastest route to a manual action in this niche. Healthy gambling profiles are dominated by branded and URL anchors. If more than a low single-digit percentage of your links use exact-match commercial anchors, you're exposed.
The test we apply to every link: would this placement make sense if Google didn't exist? If the answer is no, neither does the link.
